At the time, Monster Truck was no more than a vehicle for cutting loose - a side project that allowed its members to satisfy their love of a certain sound. Deep Purple’s Space Truckin’ served as the soundtrack to their first-ever jam session. But it wasn’t until they had that connection with the heavy-rock giants that things became tangible back home. They’ve sold thousands of records to rave reviews. They’ve toured the country in bands like The Reason and St. ![]() Between the band’s four members (guitarist Jeremy Widerman, lead singer and bassist Jon Harvey, keyboardist Brandon Bliss and drummer Steve Kiely), Monster Truck has decades of experience as musicians. It was rewarding … in a frustrating sort of way. When the Hamilton band opened for Deep Purple this past February, it was one of those events that gave their collective parents a way to gauge how quickly things were moving for their sons. The dads of Monster Truck are finally proud of their boys. ![]()
